However, after staying there for 3 nights, I have to say that I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. I'll be honest, I was a tad worried when headed here from Muskegon, as the reviews were not kind to this campground. I gave the campground the benefit of doubt. I read the bad reviews on here before booking a reservation. The larger mobile homes were placed up front between the road and the office. Complaints of not having the site they reserved, their camper was too big for the site. The owners care only about the money and not about campers. But, that was the only good thing about the campsite. Their activity field is active in the evening. By evening there were bandaids floating in the pool. We stayed by the pool for the grandkids and I didn't see anyone check pH except for the morning. There was a skeleton of a small dead animal on our site. Last years leaves were still on the ground. Low branches on the sites made it hard for those who were RVing. So you don't hang your hammock on them? But they're still dangerous. ZAP! There were dead tree's marked with caution tape. Don't plug in your hairdryer because the cord will hang over the sink. My daughter said the bathroom plugs were not up to code. They are NOT ADA COMPLIANT, and the owners and KOA corporate could care less. Their solution was to carry me to the bathroom, or I could drive to their hotel to use the bathroom. If you use a mobility device you can't use the bathroom! Owners acted like they were inconvenient because I was disable. The only way to get to the restroom is by Stairs. Building an additional bathhouse and bringing in some camp hosts to extend the professional reach of the staff to more of the park would make it perfect.…ĪWFUL! There was only 1 bathhouse with 4 bathrooms and 2 small showers for 106 sites. It is still by far the best campground in the area for those who want electricity. The campground is also in need of a dishwashing station for tent campers, who washed dishes in the bathhouse. A wait for the toilet, a wait for the sink, for SURE a wait for the shower (4 deep) - nearly all hours. I was never in there when there wasn’t a wait (that’s helpful when you have a 3 yo needing a potty). Four stalls and two showers in the womens (2 stalls/2 urinals in the mens). They serve coffee in the morning, which is much appreciated! Problem: they have about 100 sites. Almost every site is well treed and shady (1-7 are notable exceptions), there’s a large play field, a pool, a small playground, and the staff is terrific. So while we greatly appreciated them finding us a place to stay after they lost our reservation, we need to let you know that for the cost, this campsite may not be what you were expecting.… And no place to set your shampoo or soap. He also said there was no place to hang your towels or dry clothes. My husband used the shower and said it was very dark. This is where we moved on Sunday and the camper on our right was only about six inches from ours. The downside of this is there is no shade and the campers are packed in there like sardines. They have tried to solve this by adding several full hookups out front. There are a small number of full hookups in this area. Most of the campsites here are water and electric only. The campers next to us were so nice and asked us to share their campfire with them that evening. We appreciated the fact that they tried to accomodate us. She also said she could move us to a full hookup on Sunday. She finally said we could stay in the field out front and maybe hook to the electric if the campers already there agreed. The owner called a few other campsites but everyone was booked. When we got back there we found that they had lost the reservation my husband made 2 months earlier. Fortunately one of the men there remembered that they had a name change and could direct us back to the proper campsite. So we drove right past them and had to stop at the Ranger Station in town to ask.
